TEACHING ASSISTANT 2 SEN - Required from September 2025

Band 4 pt12 – 17 £27711-£30060

Actual Salary £25,037 to £27,160

Full Time (36.25 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:00pm)

Term time only plus 5 days INSET

Are you a passionate and nurturing Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you committed to making a real difference in the lives of children who benefit from a more bespoke and supportive learning environment?

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team every morning in our internal SEMH Hub, which offers a tailored curriculum for up to eight pupils. You will work alongside a qualified teacher to support the emotional and academic development of pupils, building trusting relationships and encouraging engagement through a flexible and compassionate approach.

In the afternoons, you will provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, helping him to access mainstream lessons and integrate successfully with his class. This role is ideal for someone who can balance structure with empathy, and who has the confidence to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and learning with consistency and care.

We are looking for an inspirational and committed TA2+ SEN Teaching Assistant who:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • A calm, resilient, and patient approach
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting individual progress
  • The ability to work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Is confident in implementing individual support plans and differentiated learning strategies.
